Frequently Asked Questions

Can We Request Specific Magic Tricks?

Absolutely! If you have a magic favourite, be it classic card tricks, mind-reading feats, or that one memorable effect you saw on Britain’s Got Talent :). Just share your wishes in advance. Gary is more than happy to tailor his repertoire to incorporate magic or mentalism acts that hold special meaning for you and your guests.

Whether you'd love to see a particular sleight of hand, a nod to Derren Brown’s psychological stunners, or moments where the newlyweds become the stars of the show, just let us know. The goal is to make your wedding entertainment feel personal, bespoke, and unforgettable.

What Are The Typical Price Ranges For Different Types & Lengths Of Magical Wedding Performances?

Curious about what to budget for a wedding magician in London? Pricing can vary depending on your needs and the experience of your performer.  My quote is tailored perfectly for your special day.  But as a guideline, here’s a handy guide to help set expectations:

  • Short & Sweet Sets: For a quick burst of close-up magic (about 30 minutes), expect prices to start around £400–£600.

  • Classic Two-Hour Magic: Most couples opt for a two-hour close-up or table magic performance, which generally ranges from £700 up to £1,300. This covers everything from mingling magic during the drinks reception to table-side amazement at the wedding breakfast.

  • Full Evening Entertainment: Looking to dazzle guests all night long? Full-scale evening experiences, potentially including stage magic or mind-reading, can range from £1,000 up to £2,500+, particularly for magicians with years of acclaim in venues across London.

No matter your choice, investing in live magic guarantees delighted guests and wonderful memories.

How Early Should I Look To Book Gary Fairplay For Wedding Magic?

One of the most common questions couples ask me is: when should you secure your magician? For peace of mind, it’s best to book your wedding magician as soon as you’ve confirmed your venue and date, ideally 8 to 12 months in advance.

Prime wedding dates, especially summer Saturdays, can fill up quickly for sought-after Magic Circle performers like myself. If you have a specific time during your day in mind, say, during the drinks reception or the wedding breakfast, early booking ensures the perfect slot is reserved just for you.

For last-minute weddings, don’t worry! While early booking is recommended, it’s always worth enquiring, as cancellations and odd-dated availability can sometimes work in your favour.

Planning ahead means you can relax and look forward to a magical experience tailored seamlessly into your celebration.
